HAPPY EASTER!

I am so thankful that Lent is over. I LOVE Easter.

One of my favorite verses in scripture is 1 Corinthians 15:17, "if Christ has not been raised, your faith is in vain; you are still in your sins."

St. Paul is CONVINCED that the Resurrection of Jesus is really real, and that it is efficacious in our lives, even today.

I love when people believe that what they believe is really real. (That's a Curtis Martin phrase.)

Get this: Ciara IS CATHOLIC. This is one of the greatest blessings to my soul thus far. I kept it together through her Baptism and  Confirmation. She was the first person in the whole Parish to receive Jesus in the Easter Eucharist. I was closely behind her and when Father said "The Body of Christ," her response was the most enthusiastic "AMEN" I have ever heard. We then received the Precious Blood and I got back to the pew and LOST IT. Ugly cry and all. It was so refreshing and peaceful and sure. She's gone to receive Him every day since. I am so humbled and so so so grateful to God.

Here is something else I've been up to:

Mission is a Spectator Sport

Happy Triduum!

This month I've been having a hard time hearing God speak into my life during prayer. Outside of prayer though, He's been loud and CRYSTAL CLEAR. He's been moving in big ways.

In prayer, since I've had a hard time communicating with Him, I've been asking Him to take my heart and transform it without my knowledge.

Giving someone full consent to wreck your life seems risky. But God is infinitely good, and desires my own good even more than I do.

He's really come through for me in radical ways. My former roommate (whom I wrote about here) is coming into the Church IN TWO DAYS! I am honored and humbled to stand beside her and I'm so proud of her for taking this leap of faith.

Also, I've been good friends with my colleague Kevin for about 2 years now. (Our teammates call him my work husband.... whatever.) Kevin has been asking more and more questions about Jesus lately. Today he agreed to read Mere Christianity with me. If you know me, and I suspect you do, you know that I'm not great at showing Jesus to my colleagues, so again, this is a moment in my life when I feel like I'm witnessing God act from the outside looking in. He's made it abundantly clear that I can not make anyone a Christian, but He can and will and does.

Also, I'm working on a new initiative with the Diocese of Fort Worth to build a community of evangelists and equip them to lead small groups and do discipleship. Get exciteddddd!!

Have a blessed Triduum.

St. Mary Magdalene, pray for us!
